Apple Just Refreshed The iPhone SE With 5G Support, Better Battery Life

It has been a couple of years since Apple introduced the previous version of the iPhone SE. For those who might have been a bit disappointed by the somewhat poor battery life and the lack of futureproofing in terms of 5G, you’ll be happy to learn that it might be time to upgrade as Apple has introduced a refresh.

With the 2022 iPhone SE, Apple has officially brought support for 5G to the smartphone. The handset itself is powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic chipset, the same chipset used in the iPhone 13 series which means that users can expect similar levels of performance despite the iPhone SE being designated as a cheaper device.

Overall, the design of the phone remains the same as its predecessor where it will continue to use a 4.7-inch display (sorry, no ProMotion here), along with a Home button that also houses the Touch ID sensor.

Apple has made some upgrades to the camera system where it will feature a 12MP f/1.8 camera that supports features like Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, Deep Fusion, and Portrait mode, some of which are features that were only found in the iPhone 13. Unfortunately, it appears that some of these upgrades have also meant that the 2022 iPhone SE is more expensive.

The previous-gen model was priced starting at $399, but for the 2022 model, Apple is pricing the phone starting at $429 for the 64GB model.
