Windows 11 Users In The US Can Now Access Android Apps

Switching default apps and browsers in Windows 10 was pretty easy and straightforward, but for some reason, in Windows 11 Microsoft made the process slightly more complicated and not as obvious, so for those who aren’t as tech savvy and haven’t fully explored Windows 11’s settings, it can be troublesome.

However, there is good news because in a new update to Windows 11, Microsoft is now making it a lot easier for users to switch their default browsers on the platform. All users need to do is go to the default apps section in their Windows 11 settings, search for the browser of their choice, and click a button that lets users set it as their default.

Prior to this, if users failed to choose their default browser at the start, they would need to dive into the settings and change the way apps handle protocols, which like we said might not necessarily be the most obvious for some users. It’s good to see these changes which shows that Microsoft is indeed listening to the feedback from users.

Keep in mind that the KB5011563 update is an optional update, meaning that Microsoft isn’t mandating that users install it so you will have to check for the update manually and update your computer if you want to take advantage of these changes.
